Palmer of Plain City district with a force of men has been "swatting" tho weeds upon the streets and highways under his supervision. All obnoxious bur-bearing bur-bearing woods have boon destroyed on about four miles of streets and .roads and the supervisor is urging the irrigation company and the land owners own-ers of tho town to make war upon this olass of weeds. A traction englno drawing a threshing thresh-ing machine and its accessories from West Weber to Plain City, last Friday Fri-day afternoon, broke through tho county bridge crossing the Warren canal. Tho engine dropped into a considerable dopth of water, and it required tho efforts of several men working twenty-four hours to recover tho tractor. The bridge was destroyed des-troyed beyond hope of repair, and a new one must too built. |
