Show FAPPAS EASY FOR BIG CEORGE NELSON Pocatello, Idaho, March 1 George Nelson, heavyweight wrestler, of Preston, Pres-ton, threw Gus Pappas, the Greek wrestler, twice in twenty-one minutes last night at the McNlchols & Wright hall. Nelson weighed 180 and Pappas 158 pounds. The Greek made a game fight, but was outgeneraled and outclassed out-classed The twenty-two pounds extra weight carried by the Preston man was too much. While Pappas made a great showing in the faco of the handicap under which ho was working, there was never any question in the minds of the spectators as to how the bout would end. Two lively preliminaries put the crowd in good, humor for the main event Young Fanning of Grace and Phil Jorden of this city, two lively and promising youngsters, put up a splendid exhibition in the form of a twenty-minute wrestling bout. The match was a good one, and sit the end of the period both men were on their feet trying for holds. The referee was Art Chester. nn |
