Show omrauL GMTEST AT SC1EI ON WEHSUY In the annual Weber academy oV' torical contest, which was held yesterday, yes-terday, first honors wore awarded to Louis Scoville. The prize this year was a gold medal presented to the school -for competition, by Miss Cora Kasius and Harvey Taylor, president and vice-president respectively, of the Academy-Student body last year The medal was of artistic workmanship and well worth the effort put forth by the student orators to win It. Tho subject discussed by Mr. Scoville Sco-ville wa3 "World Wide Peace" and In ' subject matter, arrangement and de- livery would have done credit to many an older advocate. Other contestants con-testants who gave the victor a CI030 race for first honors and whose orations or-ations were worthy of much commendation, commen-dation, wore lone Jensen. Lamont Poulter, Julia Wade, Ruth Sears, Ben Young and Mattle Stone. Tho judges were E. A. Larkin, Supt. E S. Hinckley of the State Industrial school, and Mrs. M. S. Marriott. |
