Show wfst Hir.H mm FROM EAST HIGH Salt Lake, Jan 29. Coach Tommy ritzpatrick's East High school basketball basket-ball artists were defeated by their rivals ot the West High yesterday 43 to 18. Girls were the chief nolte makers at yesterday's game. The consistent fouling of several stars from the two schools featured. Clawson, Ottinger, Chipman, Rudlne and S. Spencer were removed from the game -via the personal foul route. Until removed they wore showing clasB and were doing all in their power pow-er to win for their schools, sometimes becoming too zealous. Scoring began early in tho first half and the teams In this period seemed to be about evenly matcher. Tho East SIders were showing class and were able to hold tho fast West team to twenty points during the first period. Kinksley Clawson, the stellar guard, played a consistent game and his field work was a feature of the game. During Dur-ing the first period Clawson throw three field baskets from tho center of the floor, bringing the rooters to their feet on each occasion. His guarding was also a feature. Stenley Johnson, the terrible "Swede," showed his old-time old-time form and was credited with six field baskets. His work at tho center position was of the highest order and his guarding was al60 good. Lolo Spencer, the sensational forward, was credited with fourteen points and showed his ability at throwing from the foul line. Jarvis also showed to good advantage. Capt. Lee Prouse led the attack for the East bunchors ahd played a star game. He was In fact the only hill-topper hill-topper who was able to locate tho hoop Ho scored thirteen of the team's eighteen points and made several baskets bas-kets of tho spectacular order. Ottinger Ottin-ger and Rudlno played well, as did Romney. |
