Show IFOIJTIOI M IMMIGRATION The local Union Pacific passenger traffic officials have been rpnuontori to co-operate with the immigration department de-partment of the United States chamber cham-ber of commerce, in the obtaining of I information as to the probabilities of immigration to this country. A circular cir-cular bearing on the question was received re-ceived yesterday by City Ticket Agent Paul Beemer of the U P system and lu stated that the request contained in it would bo complied with. The circular is as follows: "Tho Immigration committee of the chamber of commerce of the U. S. A. respectfully asks your active' cooperation co-operation in obtaining information as to the probabilities of immigration to this country after the European war It Is believed that you gentlemen, better bet-ter than any other agency, can secure tnis information through your contact and association with those representatives represent-atives in this country of tho foreign born and foreign derived population knows as the sub-agents of the trans-tl trans-tl LC . steamship companies, through whom you are, in normal iJ!??,' cnstantl' securing passenger , frour respective companies. wn i 5 "n'on. when received, will be carefully summarized and analyzed, an-alyzed, and a reprint based thereon will be made to the chamber of commerce com-merce of the U. It will, you readily recognize, also be a very helpful help-ful service to the various industries, organizations and others interesteo In this Important subject and win probably bo made the subject of mucn discussion In the public press as being be-ing of vital national interest" In securing the Information, tne agent will use the following questions as a guide: Are those of foreign birth or parentage par-entage in this country saving money at the present timo with a view to bringing their European relatives and friends to this country after the war? Docs tho personal correspondence which they are receiving from Europe indicate that thero will be any considerable con-siderable movement to this country after the war is over, and what, so far as you can get the information, do the estimates Indicate as to the volume? vol-ume? Will such Immigration as does come consist of people who have been working on farms, or of those from tho factories? After, the war is over will there be any considerable emigration from this country' to Europe of those going go-ing bnck to live permanently there? How great will be the movement of those going back to Europe temporarily tempo-rarily after the war to look after their relatives, or through sentiment to Mew the destruction of their early homes, et cetera, and who will return to this country after a short visit?
