Show uu COAST ARTILLERY SENT SOUTHWARD San Francisco, June 25. The alarms If imminent war reached the Presidio today with unmistakable clearness. Emergency orders were received from "Washington to entrain seven of the ten coast artillery companies for the California-Mexican border at once. At midnight a special train was scheduled sche-duled to pull out from the Southern Pacific lepot with tho seven com- j panies aboard. The mobilization of the men, gathered gath-ered In from all parts of the city on Sunday leave, was effected in ten hours. The companies leaving were tho One Hundred Fifty-eighth, Sixty-seventh, Sixty-fourth, Sixtieth and Thirty-eighth Thirty-eighth from Fort Scott, the Twenty- I fifth from Fort Miley, the Slxty-firat from Fort Baker. j Five of the companies are ordered to Calexlco and two to San Diego. I There will be three coast artillery companies remaining, the One Hun- jj dred Forty-eighth at the Presidio, the f Fifty-seventh and Sixty-fifth at Fort fi Scott. E |
