HOT OSTROM IN 1 ADDRESS AT ACADEMY Dr Henry Ostrom. the evangelist who is conducting the union church revival In the tabernacle at Twenty seventh street and Washington avenue, ave-nue, visited the Weber academy this morning, in company with Rev P. G. Brainerd of the Congregational church, Rev. J E. Carver of the Presbyterian Pres-byterian church, and Rev. G. F Rass-weiier Rass-weiier of the First Methodist church, and Albert S. Reltz, the music director direc-tor of the revival. In connection with his visit, the evangelist addressed t'he student body and faculty of the school during the regular devotional period, taking "Sphltuallty in Educallon" as his tnorae. He was introduced to the assembly as-sembly by Rev. Brainerd who also made a few remarks concerning the purpose of the revival. Dr. Ostrom, In his talk, congratulated the Btudents on their closely allied opportunity of objaining spiritual and Intellectual training in the church school and declared de-clared education without religion' to be a detriment On the other hand, he said that education with religion was a great help to man In every walk of life. These two thoughts he impressed strongly upon his hearers through his power as a public speaker and with illustrations from life bearing bear-ing on the main theme of his talk. For the further pleasure of the students stu-dents and instructors, Mr. Reltz sang two songs of his own composition and these wore also appreciated. |
