The interstate inter-state commerce commission had be-foro be-foro it for consideration today a wealth of suggestions designed to solve the problem of freight congestion conges-tion at the east terminals of trunk line railroads and of car shortage In the west The proposals were made during a two days' conference between the commission, the carriers, the shippers and others. The conference adjourned last night after numerous speakers lad discussed discuss-ed the question of French congestion and car shortage from every angle. It Ib likely that one result of the conference will be the submission by the carriers of definite proposals to the commission for Increasing the de murrage and storage at terminals and reducing the time allowed receivers of freight to unload cars without extra charge. The proposed changes, It is expected, will be vigorously opposed by shippers and carriers. |
