Show C0IESS1 OF THE ALLEGED RQBBER IS FALSE A little -further questioning of Walter Wal-ter Dailoy, tho would-be accomplice in the Roy robbery of March 25, by Special Spe-cial Officer Joseph Jones of the Oregon Ore-gon Short Line and Sheriff T. A. D-Vlne, D-Vlne, caused Dailey to break dowrt and acknowledge that he has been deceiving de-ceiving the officers. He now says that all he knows about the robbery Is that ho rode as far as Roy on a ifrolght train tho night of the robbery and saw two men whom he thought wore the bandits. Dailey after going over the ground near Roy yesterday, was brought back to Ogden. Tho only excuse the young man offers of-fers for the fake story, Sheriff DoVine says, Is that ho wns In distress at Laramie and he thought that If he could disclose something that would lead to a disclosure regarding the robbery rob-bery at Roy, he would gain favor with the officials and they would help him. Sheriff DeVine says ho will hold tho young Yellow In jail for further orders from government officials. The sheriff Is of the opinion, however, that what tho fellow has said In relation to tho holdup may be of some value Dailey 1b a typical boy tramp who has a good deal of knowledge about criminals. He Is 21 years of age and has bad no schooling. |
