MINER IS BEATEN IN SALT LAKE Salt Iake, Jan. 25. Patrick J Kelly, a miner from Bingham, was strong-armed and beaten into unconsciousness uncon-sciousness early this morning by two men on First South street between Second and Third East streets. Kelly reached Salt Lake a week ago with his pay check. He put up at the Lincoln house on East First South street. He was out for a walk before going to bed when the robbery occurred. oc-curred. Two men pounced upon him near the fire station. Holdhig his back to the wall, they struck him over the head with what is believed to be a blunt piece of metal, possibly a lead pipe. After taking $20 from him they ran east, leaving the man holpless on the sidewalk. Detectives James B. Woodard and J. A. Egbert took Kelly to tho police emergency hospital, where his wounds were dressed. The officers and Investigating.
