SM 10 SLUSH iE ORDERED REWD BY THE MAYOR Since the arrival of the "January thaw," sidewalks in the city have become be-come so sloppy that the pedestrians have been handicapped in traveling over them. Having received a number of com-.plalnts com-.plalnts this morning, Mayor A- R Heywood directed the officers of the police department to make the rounds of the city in an automobile and advise ad-vise owners of property that they will be required to comply with the city ordinance respecting the clearing of snow from sidewalks. Speaking of the situation, Mayor Heywood stated he did not intend to bo captious at all, but he felt that more care should be taken In clearing the sidewalks of snow. He was of the opinion that a few moments with an ordinary shovel would remove the slush from the sidewalk abutting most any residence propertv in the city.
