Richardson was arraigned before Judge Harris this morning on a charge of contempt of court for having failed to pay to his former ivife, Margaret Moyes Richardson, the nmount of alimony stipulated by the ;ourt at the time the decree of divorce thirty days in the county ajil. Both Mr. Richardson and his former wife were in court. The latter was represented by Attorney A. G. Horn. The defendant stated as his reason for falling to comply with the order of the court, financial obligations in excess of his Income. Attorney Horn was granted permission to ask the defendant a question. '"Didn't you join the Elk's club and pay an initiation initia-tion fee of $50 and another fee $15 since a degree of divorce was given you? The husband answered affirmatively. affirma-tively. When asked by Judge Harris If he had no other reasons, and answering an-swering that he didn't, the former pronounced pro-nounced a sentence of thirty days in the county jail. oo |
