Show jj FIFTY CENTS A TON INCREASE IS GIVEN An increase of 50 cents a ton for jeets grown this season has been au-horlzed au-horlzed by the directors of tho Utah-daho Utah-daho Sugar company. This is in ad-litlon ad-litlon to the increase announced at he close of last season and will bring he average price of beets to approxl-nately approxl-nately $5.75 a ton, and will moan the llsbursenients of about 400,000 by ho company this fall ovor that of a year ago. Speaking of the action of H tho board of directors of the company l General Manager T. R. This is In line with what H was promised at the stockholders' IH meeting last April, when President H Smith's report stated that if business' H conditions justified the farmers would H be paid an increased rate. When the M last fiscal year ended, February 29, ' jH the company had a large amount of IH sugar on hand, the value of which was M problematical. Now the greater part H of this has been sold and the company jH knows where it stands, which enables jH it to make the extra allotment to the H farmers." H |
