Physicians today to-day held out no hope for the recovery recov-ery of either Norris H. Powell, 44, nor Miss Ada Warner 40, his sweot-heart, sweot-heart, who Saturday night shot him and then cut her own throat when he refused to marry her after she entered en-tered his home near midnight and demanded de-manded at the point of a gun that he take her for his wife. Powell is at the home of a nearby relative with a bullot in his lung. He ran there in his night clothes after he had been shot and fell unconscious on the floor after telling of the tragedy. Miss Warner is at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. John Warner, twelve stitches having closed the wounds in her neck, which she inflicted in-flicted with a razor. She is being kept under opiates for she says she will tear the stitches from the wounds at the first opportunity in her desperation desper-ation to die. |
