Show -oo BULLION FU NEVADA 1NES Lovelocks.'Nev., Nov. 15. Humboldt county is fast establishing a reputation reputa-tion as a bullion producer, ranking up with the big productive sections of the state. Gold and silver is now pouring out from its two principal properties at the rate of $4000 a day, and this figure' is soon to be augmented aug-mented by a further production of from $1000 to $2000 as soon as the now mill oX the Nevada Packard Mines company is put Into operation, about December 1. The Rochester Mines companv mill, which is handling about 125 tons of ore per day, will turn out better than $50,000 this mouth. Seven Troughs Coalition will go better than $60.-000. $60.-000. The latter company shipped $8300 a few days ago, representing a run of three and one-half days. Extraordinary production on the part of the Rochester Mines company compa-ny is made possible by reason of the wonderful ore body that has been opened on the 400 level by winzes 301 and 302. At 425 feet the former winze is in twenty-one feet of ore running about $31 a ton. Three hundred and fifty feet south on the same vein winze 302 is in eight and nine feet or ore running from $15 to $40 a ton. This splendid ore shoot has been demonstrated, to the surface giving 700 feet of backs on the vein' It is estimated that there are 150-000 150-000 tons of ore available in this vein at an average value of $15 a ton. The Friedman tunnel, which Is now in 1850 Teet and which is projected to tap the veins of Rochester hill at a depth of 1200 feet, yesterdav broke into the ore body. Coalition's record of better than $2000 a day is a direct result of the fine showing between the 1200 and 1300 levels, where the vein has been opened out between the two stations running from one to three feet and assaying from $300 to $1000 a ton. Indications point to a continuance of this ore shoot below the 1400, as shown in a new winze that is being sunk from this level. Drifting is about to begin on the 1500 level from the, main winze, which has just reached reach-ed this point'. According to all calculations everything every-thing will be In readiness to slart the machinery at the Packard mill by November 20 Allowing for final adjustments, ad-justments, It is figured that ore will be going through by December 1. A big tonnage, estimated at 7000 tons, is already broken In the mine being stored in old slopes and on the dump. This insures a full tonnage from the time the mill starts operating. operat-ing. The Packard mill is a 100-ton plant and is said to be tho very latest word in mill construction, having been especially designed for the treatment of Packard ores. From present Indications Indi-cations this will will produce in bullion bul-lion from $1500 to $2000 each day with, sufficient ore blocked out to keep it running for a period of two years. THE MAIN DIFFICULTY The manager of a factory recently engaged a nev man and gave Instructions Instruc-tions to the foreman to Instruct him in his duties. A few days afterward the manager Inquired whether the new man was progressing with his work. The foreman, who had not agreed very well with the man in question, excjaimed angrllv: "Progressing! There's been a lot of progress. I have taught him everything every-thing I know and he is still an ignorant ignor-ant foJl." Chicago, Herald - |
