The organization ha opened what ig known as a frpe dispensary nt 2".4S 12 Washington avenue, and i here many worthy afflicted children have been assisted in obtaining medical med-ical treatment. We are informed that during the freezing, stormy weather of this week children have appeared at the dispensary dis-pensary with tattered garments and worn-out shoes, seeking medical aid Their poverty needed no greater pleader than their clothing and in many cases the kind women in charge-have charge-have traced thpse children and dis- I coverea real warn, even nunjer. iiui one distreafed child has ben allowed to go uncomforted Several have had their old shoes and wst stocking? taken off at the dispensary and warm, dry clothing substituted and they have been sent home cheered with the knowledge that the world has some thought of little ones crushed iown by penury. We are proud of the women who are devoting their time to this labor of love. Though they see much of the sad side of life, the quiet hours of evening, eve-ning, after a day of ministering to the heavy of heart, must bring them a re-I re-I j -ward of mind and soul which is above I price. Without ostentation, these generous, gener-ous, kind women are performing a c great task and they should be assisted as-sisted by those in a position to contribute con-tribute to the cause of suffering humanity. |
