Show oo SLIGHT INCREASE IN SCHOOL POPULATION Salt Lake, Aug 10 A net gain of 727 in the school population of Salt Lake at present as compared to last year is shown in the annual school census, completed and compiled by L P Judd, clerk of the board of education, educa-tion, yesterday. The total is 26,3 17. Tho Incroaso is considerably below normal In other years an increase of from 1,000 to 1,500 has been noted As lequired by law, the census includes in-cludes all children of school age C to IS years of age. A gain of 746 was shown in the first I ward, but losses of 73 and 51 aro recorded re-corded in the second and fifth wards, respectively. In the third and fourth Ml wards gains of 20 and S5, respectively fed are shown. " ! ffl Of the total school population 12,- H 9G0 are boys and 13,387 aro girls. " Bj Of the boys 1,54S cannot yet read or fiji write and 11,412 have mastered Uioba W elementary arts.
