P Mrs. Troutissued a statement in which she said that the new recognt- J tion of the equality of women is an j answer to those who express doubt of the valuo of the franchise to women, j "Illinois women can vote and stu- J dents of political economy know that j no class of persons in history deprived de-prived of a voice in the government have ever received fair treatment by the government," said Mrs. Trout. Action Economically Sound. j "The action of the state board is I economically sound," continued Mrs. I Trout. The new regulations provide that H the same minimum scale of wages E sljall apply to men and women em- t ployed in state institutions; that all E employes shall have one day of rest E in seven; an automatic promotional jj wage scale, and that changes from g night to day service shall bo made I woekly instead of monthly as has been the practice. 1 President Kern of the state board 1 said: , 1 Same Pay for Nurses.
