Steel's initial sales, 5,000, sold off from 40 to 38 1-2 and 38, its minimum, mini-mum, while Sears-Roebuck In recognition recog-nition of its 50 per cent stock dividend divi-dend moved forward to 209 1 2, a gain of almost 14 points. Steel later recovered re-covered from its minimum in fairly-large fairly-large dealings to 38 5-8. Other active issues showed some irregularity, Union Uni-on Pacific, Southern Pacific, St. Paul and Atchison making small reces sions, while Reading and Amalgama, HH ted Copper rose fractions, both how- HhB ever, soon reacting.
