S. , Morrow, formerly of Ciarfield. who was found dead from strangulation In a barn here late yesterday morning. morn-ing. It is still believed that Mor row took his own life possibly from l brooding over domestic troubles io relation to his divorce from his wife. I Nevertheless the members of the coroners cor-oners jury. Sheriff Harris - and his I deputies are et ill investigating th? ' possibility that Morrow ''may havo bpen murdered No verdict has been rendered as yet. Amos Compton, who said he was to meet Morrow and go north to Idaho Ida-ho with him by team, was arrested at Brlgham City today by Sheriff Harris of Davis county, and is held on suspicion that he may be connected con-nected with the tragedy. Compton denies all knowledge of the affair Compton waB arrested by Sheriff Harris of Davis county and Sheriff DeVlne and Deputy Sheriff Hobson of Weber county. He made no resistance. re-sistance. With him in the wagon he was driving were two sons, aged 22 and 17 years, and a little daughter. 7 years old. They remained in Brig ham City. According to Morrow's brother who came here today. Morrow could not have had much more money on him than was found, about $165 There was a rumor that Morrow had $900 with him, but this is indefinite and is not believed by his relatives. Compton said he was to meet Morrow Mor-row at the Warm Springs in Salt Lake Tuesday morning, when botn of them, with their teams, were to-start to-start for Idaho He said that he did not find Morrow there and 90 continued con-tinued north, thinking possibly that Morrow had been delayed. Compton Comp-ton said after he reached St. Joseph he went back a short distance, believing be-lieving that he might possibly see Morrow coming. Failing to sight him, he said he went on to Farming- ton, where he camped. Morrow's dead body was discovered discov-ered about 11 o'clock Wednesday morning It is believed that the automobile au-tomobile in which the mans body was brought into Farmington passed Comptbn.'l wagon Just outside of the town A relative of Morrow told Sheriff Harris yesterday that Compton was to go north with Morrow, and the search followed Compton frankly admitted at once that he knew Mor-,row. Mor-,row. but denied all complicity in the death. No Sign of Struggle. The belief that Morrow committed suicide Is strengthened by the fact that there was absolutely no sign of a struggle in the vicinity. His clothes were in perfect order. His coat was neatly folded near where he hung from the rafter of the bant, which was open on the side toward the main highway. The only bruise was the wound just over his forehead, fore-head, possibly inflicted by Khe ax which lay near him. The jurors arc-inclined arc-inclined to believe Morrow first at tempted to kill himself with the ax. but later decided upon hanging. The wound, according to attending physl- I cians and the jurors, was only slight, not even exposing the skull It could not possibly have been fatal. Morrow was a large man. weighing almost 200 pounds, and as he w'as muscular would undoubtedly have put up a utruggle If he had been assailed. as-sailed.
