Entering the lobby, overhead for its full length were hung large Japanese lanterns which gave out a subdued glow of light that was most pleasing Going down the long hall, after removing wraps and reachlns the entrance '.o the ball room a scne of rare orient nl brilliancy and beauty met tho eye Forming a complete canopy over tb-large tb-large hall, were immense Japanese umbrellas and under them were hung myriads of vori -colored Japanese lan j j terns which enclosed incandescent globes of light Intertwined were . pretty festoons of red and white; and large bjtterflies. which appeared to be flying through the air. were hunc from the ceiling. Bordering the east I end end the two sides of the hall were placed with artistic taste, large Jap i 1 anese fans and banners on which Were pictured scenes of Japanese life For thp east end of th hall, over the mirrors cozy corners and entrance Japanese peach and Wisteria blossom s were used. Nichols. Browning wore cham I gne hand embroidered crepe de meteor with gold lace Mrs. Drew Marshall wore a gown of apricot brocade satin and cream lace. Mrs W. A Lktlefield's dress was old rose chiffon over satin, trimmed with Irish point pace. Miss Mae Workman's costume was of blue charmeuse with overdress of chiffon and shadow lace. Miss Sadie Eccles wore pink satin with white shadow lace and pale blue chiffon.
