C, March 2G Despite De-spite the distance between tho United Uni-ted States and British East Africa, and the lack of direct means of transportation, trans-portation, the latter country bought $674,S91 worth of unbleachod cotton goods from the United States In 1913, according to an announcement by tho department of commerce today. In the trade in other lines of cotton goods- American manufacturers took little or no part. During the year. British East Africa bought 1,308,777 worth of unbleached cotton, and the share which came from the United States is considered highly gratifying to department officials In vlow of the many obstacles in the way. |
