SAN FRANCISCO FIRE HERO A SUICIDE Montgomery, Mo., March 26. John H. McClure, a former newspaper man of Missouri and California, who gained gain-ed distinction at the time of the earthquake In San Francisco by saving sav-ing public buildings from destruction by fire, shot and killed himself at the home of his sister, near here, yesterday. McClure, then editor of a paper at Fresno, Cal., was In the collector's office in San Francisco after the earthquake and by ,an act of heroism prevented the spread of a blaze that threatened the building.
