Show ANTI-BETTING BILL GIVEN DEATH BLOW Annapolis, Md., March 25. Plans for putting an end to betting on horse races in Maryland probably received a death-blow in the House of Dole gates tonight when the bill offered some weeks ago, and over which a hard fight was waged, was recommitted recommit-ted to the judiciary committee. The committee can hold the measure meas-ure for fifteen days before reporting it back, if it so desires. The legislature leg-islature will adjourn two days before this limit expires. The vote by which tho bill was recommitted re-committed was 70 to 24. |
