He admits he would rather go through with the White match than anything else he knows of, and even says that the proposed meeting between Wolgast and Ritchie in the "beer" town will not stand in tho way of this fight. Jones does not have much hope that Ritchie will come to th'e middle west to do battle with Wolgast. He did hope that much when he left the coast, but the story to the effect that Ritchie's strained tendon is so bad he may never fight again was enough for Thomas. Ritchie agreed to come to Milwaukee and box Ad for $9500 guarantee. Pie has not said yet that he will not come. Joe Mandot got back from New York, where he whaled Johnny Lore, and left tonight for New Orleans. Mandot boxes Frankle WbJtney In the Crescent city on February 2. Whitney Whit-ney also was in town today. He wants to fight Wolgast in Atlanta. Packey McFarland did not start boxing today and this fact added to a New York report that McFarland was holding out for more money, started the rumor that his match with Gibbons in New York February 12 was off.
