Show NEW YEAR CELEBRATED. Provo, Jan. 1. The new year was ushered in by ringing of bells and blowing of whistles, and auxiliary noises noi-ses by people on the street at 12 o'clock last night The Commercial club and the Elks club entertained at the clubrooms. and many private watch night parties were held. A watch night service was conducted at the M. E. church. Today the usual suspension of business and many family gatherings marks the first day of the year. At the State Mental hospital Superintendent D. H. Calder and aids entertained the patients pa-tients with a fine New Year's dinner and in the evening with a moving picture pic-ture exhibit and dance. |
