The Blue'l Committee of Oxford University, Eng- I land, has developed the same aver- W sion to the Olvmpic games that is H evidenced in other quarters of Eng- H lish athletics, as is shown by the fallowing resolution: "The commit-tee commit-tee of the British Olympic Council I having issued an appeal for L100.000 ' ($500,000), that Great British may be . adequately represented in the Olyin- 1 pic games of 1916, the Blues' Commit- M tee duly considered that appeal at 1 their meeting and unanimously agre- i ed to pass the following resolution: M Whilst entirely disapproving of Olym- -I pic games as now conducted the Blues' Committee recognizes that Great- .fl Britain is already committed to the Ohmpic games, 1916, and therefore I hope that all possible support will be given to the games of that year, on f the distinct understanding that no J obligation is hereby implied or incur- 1 red of their support and interest in j future years after 1916.' |
