Show RIVERS AND WOLGAST ARE TRAINING HARD By SAM P. HALL Chicago. 111.. Jan. 19 The boxers at the Lewis gymnasium played to a packed house today. Joe Rivers, Charley White and Joe Mandot are all fighting next Friday Mandot worked at 2 o'clock, White a half hour later and Rivers at 3. Rivers is a stranger in our midst and, of course, is the headliner The Mexican boxer Is great one day and not so well the next. He says he does not believe in leaving his fight in the gymnasium. He will per form at the 6ame place tomorrow and Wednesday, then finish his work rhur6day in Milwaukee. Friday he meets Ad Wolgast in the oeer town for a scheduled ten rounds and he knows he has the toughest sort of a battle on his hands. Brown Joe is close to the required weight now, the men having agreed to scale 13- pounds at 3 o'clock Wolgast is boxing right along In the Eagles' gymnasium in Milwaukee. He dons the gloves in the afternoon. Each morning he hits the road for miles. Adolph sincerely believes he is the real comeback among the light weights and is taking good care to keep in condition.
