Show VASSAR GIRL 1 IS DROWNED Five Students on Toboggan Tobog-gan Ride Go Through Ice Into Lake Poughkeepslc. N. Y . Feb 5 Miss Elizabeth Ilertillo Mylod. daughter of John J. Mylod. corporation counsel of Poiighkeepsic, drowned tonlghl when a toboggan on which five 1 snr girls were coasting broke ihroimh the Ice on the new lake and precipitated precipi-tated all five into 20 feet of w.i-ter. w.i-ter. Miss .Mylod was seated at the front of the toboggan and when it crashed Its way itno the water she was rallied ral-lied under the Ice and entrapped there The other four girls clung toj the crumbling edges of the ice until un-til rescuers arrived. The body of Miss Mylod was not recovered for an hour. It was the quick and daring work Ot Mi8S Phoebe Brlggs, a student and Professor Shattock that saved the ! lives of the other girls. Professor Shattock was ia his laboratory la-boratory engaged in experimentation when he heard the screams from the lake, and dashed from the building.
