Show NEW CHIEF IN DANGER, Cavalry Horse Rears in Front of President's Carriage Washington. March 4 In (lie march hack to the White House a cavalry home reared toward the president's carriage and at one time it looked as though he would plant his forefeet fore-feet In it. A dozn troopers frantically rushed rush-ed to grasp the bridle, while President Presi-dent Wilson calmly leaned out of his carriage and patted the frightened horse on the neck. At the White House reviewing stand Mr. and Mrs. William J Bryan and practically all the Wilson cabinet and their wives took places be6lde the president. President Wilson passed between cheering thrones on the way hack to the White House. The cheering was so constant that he rode most of ' e way with his hat iu his hand Occasionally Oc-casionally In response to a fervid out-hurst out-hurst he waved his hat good nalured-ly nalured-ly and smiled. At the white House Mr Taft said goodby to President Wilson and went to join Mrs Taft and Mr Hilles to leave for Augusta The inaugural procession, following the presidential party at a slower pace bean to wind from the capitol to the White House and halted before passing through ' the court of honor until a luncheon being given by President Wilson to tho inaugural committee was over. |
