Show RAILROAD OPPOSED Southern Pacific Charged Charg-ed With Evasion of Dissolution Order San Francisco. Feb 19 Accusing the Southern Pacific railroad of trying try-ing to evade the order of the United Stales supreme court for the dissolution dissolu-tion of the Harrlman lines, so far as the order applies to operations of the roads in California, the Western Pacific Pa-cific railroad, through Its attorneys, will oppose before the state railroad commission toda the former roads application lor ihe commission's sanction sanc-tion of certain compacts with the Central Pacific. Btate commission will hear today to-day tb application of the Southern Pacific and Central Pacific railroads to negotiate five leasing and traffic agreements, which their attorneys maintain are necessary in carrying out the order of the supreme court The Western Pacific attorneys will contend in the main that the proposed agreements are monopolistic in effect ef-fect and are drawn in such a way as to extend what they term the present pres-ent state monopoly of the Southern Pacific and the Central Pacific. oo |
