Show GEO. A. SEAMAN SPEAKS ON THEJAR George A. Seaman, city recorder, addressed the students of the Weber academy at an assemblv this morning on ' The Spanish-American War. ' which was appreciated by the audience audi-ence and especially so by the history classes. He reviewed the causes leading up to the war. ghing an account of the troubles between the Spaniards and the Cubans and the Spaniards and the Filipinos Mr Seaman enlisted In the army as a private but. by distinguishing distinguish-ing himself, was promoted to the office of-fice of lieutenant. He was able to give his hearers some first hand knowledge. The speaker gave a good description descrip-tion of Manila, and graphically told of the battle of Manila hay. After relating re-lating Fome amusing incidents of camp life he named some of the thrilling momenta encountered on the battlefield |
