Show FRIENDS CAUSE DOWNFALL OF WOODS Frank Woods, charged with petit Inrieny. received a sentence of 80 days or $M from Judge Reeder after he had told the court that he had Just finished a sentence of 45 days 'j Salt Lake The Judge held that If a 4.")-day sentence could not teach a lesson les-son there was small hope of a larger one proving effective, but he was will ing to take a chance. Woods was charged with stealing three pairs of trousers, but he denied that he stole them, stating that he was with a friend. Bert Ward, when the friend took them. Afterward he agreed to sell them for Ward, providing provid-ing he was given half the money. He was arrested by Special Patrolman Wm Richardson shortly after he had disposed of one pair Theother trou-I trou-I sctb w ere found In his possession He claimed also to be unfortunate I In the Salt Lake matter, stating that he had not taken anything but was arrested because the stolen articles were found in a room occupied by his friends Much of this stuff, he said, was edible, but that he had been able to eat nothing owing to the fact that he was sick at the time.
