J Daly at Los Angeles today closes the record of several notable careers marked by activity in Utah mines in the early days for he was the thelast thelast thelast last survivor of the band ot of intrepid prospectors and miners who founded their fortunes at the camp now known mown as Park ParI City Among his associates preceding him in death were Senator Thomas Kearns David Keith James Ivers and recently Moylan C Co Fox HAD THREE MINES J ES First the Daly then the Daly- Daly West Veat and the Judge Daly-Judge at Park City were the foundation of Mr Dalys Daly's fortune All three properties were discovered by him and oper oper- operated operated operated under his direct management until about 1917 when hen he retired from business and removed to Los Angeles A native of Illinois Daly came west in the seventies and worked as asa asa a miner and prospector in Montana and Nevada during 1873 and 1874 before coming to Utah Pioneering In what is now the Park City dis die district district he made his rich strikes and began the business associations and friendships that persisted during his active life In Salt Lake U.
