MayorI I I r r. r r C I I offer the following following statement of facts for the consideration I tion of the voters of Ogden city It Is my hope that a careful I analysis of the same will be convincing evidence that I possess t the necessary qualifications for the high position I seek at the hands of ot the people of Ogden Qualifications gained through a varied experience and wide contact with public affairs over a large territory and over a long period of years which I believe to be vitally necessary If the people of this city are to enjoy the successful conduct of municipal affairs which they are entitled to expect and which are badly needed and will be badly needed by the city throughout the coming period of years when expansion of the municipality Is In sight Age 43 years Education high school and university graduate Married to Weber county girl formerly Singleton of Roy Three children two boys and one girl Own city home at 1424 Twenty Twenty fifth fifth street free tree of all en en- cumbrances Own Own other real estate within the county and elsewhere In Utah Have considerable personal property equipment etc taxed In Weber county Have Ha maintained and successfully operated an engineer engineer- engineerIng Ing and contracting business In Ogden for several years han handling solely and by my own efforts an average of over of business per pep year Have handled nearly worth of government construction projects and have disbursed several millions of dollars of government funds In a manner highly satisfactory to my superiors 1 I have handled large forces of men for year years both In civil and In military life and andam andam andam am thoroughly familiar with organization and administrative work I am employing over seventy leventy Ogden citizens and for fop seven years during the construction season have had con con- constantly constantly In my employ from fifty to two hundred Ogden citizens furnishing many of them work In Nevada and Idaho when hen Og den had nothing to offer oHer I have always conducted my business on the basis of fair treatment and liberal wages to all that that might work WITH me rather than FOR me I have always given preference to local labor and to Amerl Ameri American can citizens having employed very few who were not citizens and am recognized by all who have worked for fr me as a friend I am a member of the American legion member of th the American Society of Civil Engineers registered civil and strut structural tural engineer and a 1 member of many other professional and fraternal organizations of unquestioned standing I believe that a public officer should be qualified and not merely the choice of some political ring or group of men and should serve those who select him honestly fairly and with without out discrimination and should act openly In all matters with no secret Interests to serve Also that he must observe the laws and enforce them so far as It lies within the province of the duties assigned to him without discrimination as to per persons sons or occasions If elected to office I will be prohibited by law from hav hav- having having ing any Interests In any city contracts but can give to Ogden city the benefits derived from nineteen years of construction work learned at a great cost to myself I have not nor shall I make any promises of patronage nor tie myself up with any clique or o crowd but shall go straight down the middle of the road in this campaign and If elected can assume the duties assigned me w without the burden of having to create offices and jobs for my supporters I will endeavor to function as your servant to the best of my ability and belief during my term In office If you elect me After a careful study of the economic condition of Ogden city I am convinced that a judicious expenditure of public publio funds along a carefully thought out line of procedure re reo refraining framing from unwarranted Improvements but carefully select select- selectIng Ing the essentials and by instituting a constructive program based ba ed upon sound economic principles our city can be developed devel developed to meet Its anticipated growth and at the same time the huge hue debt which we now owe can gradually be wiped out and taxes held at a minimum so that It will become a pleasure to own a home hoe Instead of a burden which now exists In many cases where unwise and unwarranted expenditures have been forced upon the taxpayers Be sure to vote at the primaries Tuesday October 25 25 or you may fail to get the candidate of your choice on the ticket for the final election November 8 Sincerely yours ORA BUNDY Paid Political Advertisement |
