| Show WORKMAN KILLED ON SAW ernest webb of charleston meets a frightful death on uintah reservation atlon heber jan 12 ernest webb of charleston employed at A the wasatch lumber companas comp anys mill B on tho the uintah reservation was almost instantly hilled by tailing failing onto the saw at 9 0 clock this morning webb was standing with his back to the whirling saw and raised his ax above his head bead to cut a slab 0 of wood in striking at the slab the blade of 0 the ax struck a timber in the root of the mill and throy webb backward 0 onto the flying teeth one leg and one arm were cut off the saw then entering the shoulder and running in toward the breast I 1 webb wag was taken from the saw as soon as poast ble but lived only fifteen minutes there were several other workmen in the bej shed but they did not see the I 1 accident and did not realize the dani ser ger until webb was caught and cut ito to death he yelled for help and several of the workmen came running ito t to his assistance it was too late however as the victim had already been dismembered and the workmen could only save him from being cut through the body friends of webb at once busied themselves and made a coffin of rough lumber plang placing this on runners I 1 they brought the body to his home 1 in charleston arriving there at 6 tonight from the lumber camp twenty five miles away webb was 37 years old and loaves haves a gift and els six children he wa was welt I 1 known loth both in heber and charleston and had many friends who were I 1 shocked when told of ot his horrible death |
