| Show MURRAY BUTCHER ROBBED ED OF 1400 money was taken while frank hoff man wasat breakfast i salt lake jan 13 nav while hile frank hoffman Hof fiman a butcher residing at murray was at breakfast yesterday morning his room was entered and robbed of about 1400 tho sheriffs office was notified shortly before noon yesterday deputy sheriff joseph sharp Is working on the case hoffman spent friday collecting money that was dae due him it was pay day at tha smelters shelters sm elters and when the butcher arrived home at 7 in the evening he had collected nearly 1400 this money was divided into two packages and placed in separate sacks it was too late to bank the money and hoffman carried it with him until bedtime he placed edthe the cash under the bedding and aud placed a 42 calibre revolver within tenay reach while he slept he Is quite certain that when he arose in the morning in answer to the breakfast bell the money was concealed in the bed he lie spent half an hour at the breakfast table and then went out to the shop to wait upon an I 1 early customer I 1 4 about 7 be he thought it would be wise to take the money to the bank it was missing te room had bad not been entered from a window and it seemed next to impossible that the robber could pass through the bouse house without being seen by some members of the family one entrance to the bouse house was locked and the other door led into a room that was occupied during the morning hours the clever thief took his departure without leaving a clue |
