Show .COUNTY BOARD EXPRESSES SORROW The Weber county board of commissioners com-missioners this morning passed the folio wlug resolutions on the death of Dnvld Eccles and decided to attend the funeral service tomorrow in a body Whereas, It has pleased God in His infinito wisdom to call to His eternal home David Eccles, a noted not-ed citizen of our community, Recognizing what the life and labors ot David Eccles has meant to Ogdcn City, to Weber county, to the state of Utah, and generally general-ly to the intermountain country, we herewith express the sense of deep loss suffered vy our community com-munity In his sudden ucmise, Wo recognize in him a man of wonderful brain and business capacity; ca-pacity; a man who had risen from I the humble lot of a logger to the I owner of immense Industrial properties, a man who throughout his exceptional financial growth and development remained simple and plain in his tastes and desires, who in the accumulated wealth thai sprang to him because of his amazing organizing power saw only the means for greater organization organ-ization and distribution of that wealth In varied industry; who grew in wealth without acquiring the greed of the miser, who found his greatest satisfaction, not In the acquirement or his wealth, but in the use of its power to create, cre-ate, to organize, to carry to successful suc-cessful fruition additional enterprises, enter-prises, who hoarded none of ills means, but sought Immediate distribution dis-tribution of it into new undertakings, undertak-ings, opening up the country, fostering fos-tering Industry and manufacture, and adding to the employment of labor, We see In David Eccles a kind and indulgent husband and father, who loved his family, who sought to teaoh them by his example simplicity, sim-plicity, frugality, thrift, economy and the proper use of the power that had come to him through his labors, now, therefore, be it Resolved, That wo express our sorrow at the loss of such a member mem-ber of our community and the shock with which wo received the news of his sudden dcatli while he was apparently in the prime of life: and, be it further Resolved, That we Herewith ex-tpnd ex-tpnd to the family of David Eccles our heartfelt sympathy May the comforting influence of the Holy Spirit temper their crlef, and may the life of their husband and father fa-ther and their own endeavor to practice all that was good in his life endow them with the power needed to properly accept and discharge dis-charge the great responsibilities that his death has now brought unto them, and may his life, his endeavors and his accomplishments accomplish-ments long be an example worthy of emulation throughout our community com-munity life; further, Resolved, That these resolutions resolu-tions be snread in full upon tho minutes of the board of county commissioners and that copies thereof be forwarded by the coun-tv coun-tv clerk to the family |
