Show MINING NEWS SANDSTORM-KENDALL IS BEING DEVELOPED Crosscuts are being driven In an easterly and westerly direction from the main shaft of the Sandstorm-Kendall Sandstorm-Kendall Consolidated on the northern slope of Columbia mountain, and aro making good progress with the aid of an oxcellont equipment that includes an electric hoisting engine, compressor compres-sor and machine drills, the compressor compres-sor being also used to operate tho pumping plant. This work Is conducted con-ducted from the old Kendall company shaft, which has produced some ore of medium grade, and is near ground from which tho early lessees produced and shipped high-grade ore. The Sandstorm was the earliest mining mi-ning location made in the Goldflold district and has produced a large tonnage ton-nage of exceedingly rich ore, some of which was shipped out by overland stage express in the early days of the camp, and a considerable quantity quanti-ty of which was hauled by wagon to Sodavllle and other distant points for treatment It Is a matter of record that some of tho tailings that remained re-mained in the treatment of ore from tho Loftus-Davls lease on tho Sandstorm Sand-storm contained over $1,000 per ton In gold and that small pockets of ore were opened in this ground thai, yielded many thousands of dollars each.
