Show W. i. HARRIS IS BEFORE JUDGE REEDER Most of the morning session of Judge Recder's court today was taken up In tho trial of tho city against W H. Harris, charged with vagrancy Through the lack of corroborative testimony, tes-timony, a charge of grand larceny was not made out against him. Harris is tho alleged "flim-flam" man who is accused by A. Martlnelly, a young Italian miner, of having taken SSO from him In his room at tho Central hotel on tho night of Decombor 4. Martlnelly related tho method by which tho money was aecurod and hlo story was practically tho same ns ho told the police. From this story It Is evident that Harris had a confederate who succeeded in getting away with $30 of the money Although much testimony was given by many witnesses, Attorney William Harcomb, for Harris, maintained that It did not prove tho allegations of the vagrancy complaint, and ho moved for dismissal of the action. Judge Reeder took the matter under advisement and will render his decision de-cision tomorrow morning. Robert Wotherspoon, the billiard hall proprietor, charged with allowing boys under the age of 18 years to play In his place of business, was found guilty by Judge Reeder, but no fine was recorded. . |
