Show VICIOUS ASSAULT ' Mat Conroy was arrested last night for assaulting C. S. Warner, an employe em-ploye of the Orphoum theatre, during a performance. Conroy struck. Warner War-ner because the latter who was act-lpg act-lpg as usher told him that ho bad taken a seat which belonged to somc ono else. Conroy and a friend purchased tickets for tho gallery but whon they entered the theatre thev did not get into the right seats They were toid of tho mistake in a courteous manner, man-ner, according to the attaches of the theatre, but became abusive and said they would leave the place Warner intended to accompany them to the ticket office and see that their raonoy was returned. Whon the trio were on tho steps leading down stairs Conrov suddenly struck out with hid fist, landing land-ing a blow' upon Warner's face. The assailant and h's companion then ran out of tho theatre but wero later captured by an officer and placed under arrest Cbnroy admitted hav- III, -fllMIM !! IM IIIWIMIiy.WIIIIIIIM-1-.. Ing struck, tho theatre man but vln- H dlcated his companion who was given H his liberty. The blow which struck H Warner was so wholly unexpected H that tho theatro man had no chance H to ward it off or' to escape any part f H of its force. As a consequence his H nose is badly bruised and it is feared H that tho bono may bo broken. H oo H |
