IH The exhibit should prove of more Wfl than ordinary interest to the public VI for nearly every art gallery in the Hj world would have to be visited in order MM to see the originals of these pictures, M ivhich, although copies, arc some of m the verj- best in existence. The col- R lection comprises some two hundred H subjects, representing some cxcel- 1 lent examples of Italian, Flemish, Fronch, English, German and Spanish Span-ish paintlnir. as well as tho art of the Renaissance Manv or tho most prominent peoplo in the city are encouraging en-couraging tho undertaking and are doing all they can to make it a success. suc-cess. The ontertainment committee has arranged to liave some one talk on art each evening during the- exhibition. While these talks will he briof, yet they will prove interesting and instructive. in-structive. Tbeso talks or lectures, will begin al 8:30 p. m.. and the public pub-lic is cordially invited to attend at Ihis hour. The committee has arranged ar-ranged this part of the program as follows: Tuesday evening. Judge J. A. Howell, "Art in America." Wednesday evening, Mrs. Jeanette McKay Morrell, "Raphael and His Pictures." - Thursday evening. Rev, J. E. Carver, Car-ver, "The French School In Art." Friday evening. Judge H. II. Rolapp. "Tho Pictures That Ilavo Impressed Mo Most." A musical program for each evening even-ing Is being worked out by Miss Hunter, music supervisor In tho city schools, and this-wlll consist of scv-oral scv-oral selections which will bo rendered by pupils of tho grade schools. Tho object In raising funds In this manner is becauso of Its educational effect In arousing a public Interest in art. It Is claimed that children will appreciate tho pictures more when tlioy have helped to place them in the schools. oo |
