Show THE RED ROSE At the Ogden Theater Not since the days ot "Florodora" has there been a musical comedy with n score so popular as that of "The Red Rose," which comes to tho Ogden theater on December 3. There are twenty-two numbers in it and every one appears to appeal to the individual individ-ual taste of some portion of the andi-ence. andi-ence. The composer, Robert Hood Bowers, has made a fortune in royalties royal-ties from his work. He seems to have grasped the secret of writing mu6iciahly and at the same time popular pop-ular airs. Mr. Bowers is a stickler for the proper Interpretation of his work, and for that reason local playgoers will hear many instruments rarely seen In the orchestra pit of the theater. the-ater. "Come Along, Ma Cherie." Is juat the sort of thing a young, innocent school girl would like to sing. The theme and score and verse are as delicate and fragrant as the breath of the south wind o'er a bank of violets. vio-lets. It appeals to the gentle and delicate deli-cate in us. In contradistinction to it is the rollicking rol-licking "Go as Far ag You Like With Me." which Js obviously written to meet and supply ihe demand for a number which would approach the tourists" idea of thai portion of Paris which Is on exhibition to satisfy the desires and expectations of the stranger, just as Chinatown, with Its "Joints."
