Ben Garbett. who" with his brother, James, qreated a disturbance at a dance In Santaquin Friday night, ivas tried Saturday on a charge of interfering with an officer of-ficer lp the discharge of his duty, convicted con-victed and sentenced to pay a fine of S50 and be confined In the city Jail at Santaquin for thirty days. In accordance ac-cordance with tho commitment in tho case, the city marshal locked Garbett Gar-bett in a cell for the night, but when breakfast was tAken In for the man .this morning he was not there. Some time during tho night Garbett loft the bastllq and Is now a free man, his whereabouts unknown to the officers. James Garbeett is also "wanted bv tho Santaquin marshal on a charge of assault with a deadlv weapon with intent in-tent to kill. It is charged that ho threw a rock and hit the marshal on tho head rendering rend-ering him unconscious. no |
