Show NO MONEY IN THE BOUNTf FUND County Clerk Samuel G. Dye has received a communication from Stato 'Auditor Jesse Jewkws, advising him that the certificates for bounty now on file in the auditor's office exceed thc money In the bounty fund, and that the entire appropriation for 1912 has been exhausted, which means that no more bounties can be paid In cash until tho legislature makes further provision. Mr. Dyo states that all he can do will be to tell parties demanding bounty on animals will that there are "no funds," but if they insist on being given a ceitiflcate it will bo done, and they can settle with the stato at some future time. Tho Etate legislature provided annual an-nual appropriation for bounties for the year 1911 and 1912, but the estimate esti-mate as to thc amount of money required re-quired fell far short. The noxt legislature leg-islature will cither havo to tako the bounty off of some of the animals, raise the appropriation or lesson the amount per head to be paid. The lawmakers will meet a deficit in the bounty fund which will havo to bo made up in some way. It Is said that tho hunters can demand tho bounty certificates under the law, and tho clerks will havo to issue them, but the stato auditor has sent out the warning warn-ing that there are no funds on hand that tho people and tho county officers may be fully advised of the situation. oo |
