Show ITALIANS JSTAB YOUNG MORRfSSEV While attempting to prevent a fight in front of his father's store at Twenty-fifth and Lincoln last evening, Edward Ed-ward Morrlssey, son of the proprietor, proprie-tor, was attacked and stabbed in tho back by an unknown Italian. There were four in the gang and two were arrested. The man who wielded the knife is believed to have escaped. Morrlssoy's Injury is a cut about an inch in length and Is scarcely more than a flesh wound. The two Italians who aro now locked up at the city jail gave their names as Leon Ordano and Mike Laphorn. When arrested by Officers John Coon-ey, Coon-ey, Dan Sullivan and A. C. Mohlman, Ordano was In the act of attempting to dispose of a pocket knife with a five-inch dirk blade. The Italians engaged In an altercation alterca-tion with an American boy in front of the store when Morrlssey told them to move on down the street. One of the foreigners struck at him and Just as he threw up his arms to defend himself anothor member of the gang stabbed him In the back. |
