Show M DECIDE ON Salt Lake, April 22 "It Is the sentiment sen-timent of organized labor that If the strike of tho laundry workers Is not settled within a reasonable time, a general Gtrlko of all union labor In the city should be ordered." This was the statement made last night by A. E Harvey, organizer of the Federation of Labor, after federation federa-tion representatives, the building trades council and tho executive board of the allied labor organizations had held a prolonged session in the Building Trades hall. Nothing but the laundry workers' strike was discussed and the session was executive Mr Harvey said that the opinion was generally expressed that a move was on foot In Salt Lake Cltv to crush organized labor, and added that while no definite notion was reached at this mooting the sentiment was strong for a general strike to force recognition of the laundry workers' work-ers' union. The question will bo further discussed dis-cussed at a moetintr of the building trades- council tonight and at a meeting meet-ing of tho Federation of Labor Friday Fri-day night. At the meeting held yesterday tho assessment levied upon each member of a labor organization to aid the laundry workers was raised 15 cents per week, making 25 cents per week which each union man la required to pay Into the fund for the strikers. oo |
