Show FAKE INSURANCE PEOPLE EXPOSED PHILADELPHIA, July 18 At a hearing hero of three officials of 14 "mutual fire insurance companies" ot this citj on the charge of operating fraudulent concerns, Herman S. Robinson, Rob-inson, a 19-year-old boy. testified he had been made president of two of the concerns and secretary of a third at a salarj -of $f a week. After the hearing the three officials. David B Abelity, Jacob Malschick and Charles Quenberk, were held under bail for trial Robinson testified lie knew he had been made president, but thought It was only a matter of form. The janitor jani-tor of an office building in which the four companies were operated from the same room also was made president presi-dent of one concern. Ernest K Mueller, a solicitor em ployed by two of the concerns which the state insurance department says was controlled by the some principals testified that while he was connected with the concerns new ones wero organized or-ganized with a total "fake" capltaliza tion of $1,500,000. Names of the alleged al-leged subscribers, he said, were takon from the city directory. The office of the concern was recently re-cently raided. It is charged that the companies wrote fire insurance In all parts of the country and that their L tal receipts were $27,000 a month. |
