Show WARNING OF DANGKIIOUS COUNTERFEIT .-).!) UNITED STATES NOTE Examine closely all $..;ij United States notes, bearing bear-ing the Treasury seal and serial numbers printed in RED. The counterfeit notes are of the Series of and have either check letter A, face plate number num-ber ,rJ0'J, or check letter F, face plate number 299, which is located in the lower right hand corner directly di-rectly above the signature of Henry Morgenthau, Jr. The back plate number, located on the back of the note in the lower right hand corner, is 888. The large serial numbers on the face of the note are printed in RED and all start with the prefix letter E and end in A. The paper is rather thin and traced with faint red and blue lines to simulate the genuine fibers. In the portrait of Lincoln, circles appear under the eyes and heavy lines accentuates the shape of the nose. The upper lip is outlined sharply and blends into the wrinkle at the right side of the mouth. The strand of hair on Lincoln's forehead is reproduced in two heavy lines. The dot over the small letter "i" in the Treasurer's signature is missing. Back of the note is printed in yellow-green tone lighter than the genuine. genu-ine. This is a deceptive counterfeit. KNOW YOUR MONEY. Study genuine bills and become familiar with the workmanship on them especially es-pecially the portraits. Compare any suspected note with a GENUINE note of the SAME TYPE AND DENOMINATION. Rubbing a bill on a piece of paper will not determine determ-ine whether it is genuine or counterfeit. The ink will rub off both. If in doubt, consult an experienced money-handler. Remember, not all strangers are counterfeiters, but the counterfeiter will probably be a stranger to you. If a counterfeit note is offered to you: DO NOT RETURN. TELEPHONE THE POLICE AT ONCE. DELAY THE PASSER UNDER PRETEXT. . t AVOID ARGUMENT.
