Tom Perry, prominent in Logan Lo-gan civic and church affairs, has filed his petition for reelection as Cache county attorney for another ano-ther two year term on the Republican Repub-lican ticket. His platform statement state-ment follows: "Upon filing for nomination to a public office, it is customary to make a public statement. I submit sub-mit to that "custom. I realize that a candidate for re-election must run on his own previous record. I believe that my record reveals such economy and efficiency ef-ficiency in handling the legal problems of Cache county in the past 17 months as to justify my nomination and re-election. "Such record will show that my first act as County Attorney-elect was a protest against the proposed budget set up for the office of County Attorney and a request that if be reduced. I made this request because -1 believed that the amount set for expense . of the County Attorney's office was too high. This request was justified, jus-tified, because at the end of the year, there was still an unexj pended balance, on the reduced budget, which was turned back into the general funds of the county. "Recently I completed the legal "Recently I completed the legal work necessary for the county to acquire the land on which the Logan-Cache Airport is situated. This matter had ' been delayed for some time prior to my administration. ad-ministration. "I have tried to be fair yet vigorous in my prosecution of persons charged with criminal offenses. I make no boast of 100 per cent convictions. I believe that when a person is unjustly charged ' with a crime, the public prosecutor should be the first to ask for an acquittal. "I seek a second two-year term. Most county officials are elected for four years, but the County Attorney is elected for only two. I should like the opportunity to continue to work with the fine county officials who were elected with me two years ago. "I find joy in public service. As the Bishop of the Logan Ninth ward for over 17 years and more) recently as a member of the Cache Stake Presidency, I have met and learned to love many good people in Cache County. "Two of my sons are now in military service of our country; one in the Navy and the other in the Marine Corps. They are giving their all. Upon the home front I seek to do a little for my country.'' |
